TALK ON THE STREET

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness;I Timothy 2:1-2

I don't know what exactly is happening in Guyana these days but #PrayforGuyana.

Let's start with last week Tuesday, I woke up early to go to the bank so as to avoid the long queue at the bank before going to the hospital, however,  my chest stated aching so I decided to have some breakfast and take some pain relievers. Seeing I was running late, I decided to go to the hospital directly instead. On getting to the hospital, I went on Facebook aka the new CNN, I saw that the bank was robbed and closed down. #greatfulIdidntgo. That was like what everyone was talking about because that was the first time the bank has been robbed.

Then, Rob and Black Chyna happened and I guess the news died down only yesterday. Holy Sunday, I went on my WhatsApp story and I saw people posting videos that the prison was on fire πŸ”₯. This wasn't the first time so I didn't really take it seriously πŸ˜’, then my iphone πŸ“± battery was low and my chargers stopped working. So I later took My old and faithful BlackBerry phone and logged onto Facebook to see what's going on, I saw the prison was like on fire πŸ”₯ fire πŸ”₯ and people were just saying all sought of things like prisoners escaping. The prison is walkable distance from My house, I even wanted to go and see what's up because it seemed like watching a real life prison break (from Michael robbing the bank to going into prison), on  getting outside, the street was empty and I won't lie I didn't have that much courage so I went back indoors and was following the news till Real Housewives of Potomac Reunion and Power came up.

This morning, I went to town to get a new charger and every activity was going on even though today has been declared an holiday in several institution .

Let's Pray for Guyana πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ύ. This is a country that has been quite peaceful everyone knows everyone. A country where people are not really materialistic, they just want to live a normal life and go to USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ for Summer, Girls are not after wearing red sole shoe and boys are not hungry for Ferraris.

Let the youth stop liming, there is 24/7 electricity and less than 30usd unlimited internet per month that can connect to everything. Do you know how much you can achieve with such opportunities ?

#PrayforGuyana.

BACK TO WORK

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3

After the long weekend, we are back to 8-5 life. I miss the holiday, not to worry, Friday is just around the corner.

Today outfit is a business casual. The clutch πŸ‘› did tone it down. I know a lot of persons carry big bag πŸ’Ό to work, that can contain everything to their laptop πŸ’» infact I am one of them but there are days when you just want to let it go. The peplum in the blouse is everything to the black strips on the skirt and to the belt just complete the whole look.

The outfit  is good for days when you have a date after work and don't wanna go back home to switch it up .

ISSA HOLIDAY WEEKEND !

2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. Genesis 2:2-3

Today Monday is Caricom Day that is to say a long weekend. In My BeyoncΓ© Voice "we like to party πŸŽ‰ !!!". By the way Guyana πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ύ is the only country, I know with so much public holidays in a year, not complaining at all.

So, take time today to relax, visit a friend you haven't seen in a while, hang out with Family or better yet, just go by the sea 🌊 wall. After all the partying and clubbing, remember Tuesday is less than twenty- fours from now, therefore don't over drink 🍹 to the point of a hangover.

CUTE BUT NOT ANKARA

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding;Proverbs 3:13

Happy Sunday !!!

It's Emancipation season here in Guyana πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ύ. In honor of the occasion, I will be posting a few blog posts educating people on types and uses of African Print. Before I proceed let me gist my Non Guyanese or Caribbean visitors about Emancipation here in Guyana πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ύ,Emancipation Day is observed in many former European colonies in the Caribbean and areas of the United States on various dates to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people of African descent. In Guyana πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ύ it is celebrated on the 1st of August and there are a series of events done during this period to celebrate and a lot persons wear African Print.

Let's go ahead, so I have been seeing all
sorts
of things from people, labeling leopard print as African Print to fake Chinese African Print, all this are just insulting to the gods of the land in Africa and it's like piercing the heart of those who fought bravely for freedom.

That's why l would be educating you guys on  African Fashion. The top I am wearing isn't Ankara(African Print) at all we may call it African inspired outfit. I would be posting several post about African Fashion.
